Der große Erfolg des Krav Maga liegt vielleicht in seinem praktischen Fokus begründet. Als Selbstverteidigungskunst hat es seinen Platz gefunden und interessiert viele Menschen auf der ganzen Welt, denn jeder, unabhängig von Alter oder körperlichem Zustand, kann große Vorteile schon aus der ersten Lektion ziehen. Vielleicht ist die Situation der Bewohner Israels der perfekte Nährboden, damit durch die Notwendigkeit eine pragmatische und effektive Form eines Selbstverteidigungssystems entsteht. Doch es war das Genie und die menschliche Kategorie seines Schöpfers, Imi Lichtenfeld, die eine positive Antwort auf diese Forderung fanden. Der Rest ist Geschichte. Der Name Lichtenstein ist eng mit der Geschichte des Krav Maga verbunden. Die Affinität dieser Familie mit dem Schöpfer des Stils ging über eine intensive und dauerhafte Beziehung seit den ersten Tagen dieser Kunst und verbreitete sich bis zum Ableben ihres Schöpfers. Der Autor dieses Buches, Meister Kobi, hat sein Leben dem Studium und der Verbreitung des Krav Maga gewidmet und zeichnet nun auch verantwortlich für die Organisation der großen Gedenkveranstaltung zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum von Gründer Imi Lichtenfeld in Rio de Janeiro. Seine Arbeiten zum Krav Maga, sowohl als Video, als auch in Büchern, haben dazu beigetragen, diese Verteidigungskunst in der ganzen Welt bekannt zu machen. Heute präsentiert Meister Kobi mit diesem Handbuch über Verteidigung eine neue Arbeit, die in zahlreiche Sprachen übersetzt wird, und die auf den Prinzipien und Techniken des israelischen Verteidigungssystems basiert, die gerade den Planeten erobert, das Krav Maga. Es ist mir eine Ehre, den Lesern diese Arbeit zu präsentieren, die vielleicht das erste Buch über das Krav Maga in der Geschichte sein wird, das in sechs Sprachen übersetzt ist.
